Having my Ducks in a Row.

I guess I'm one of those people who are lucky, because I know what I want in life. Yes, I have my ducks in a row, and if I could make a checklist of what I want to happen, I probably could. (Haha I guess that's the OC in me.)And I could wait for the time to tick each check box one by one.

I believe that everyone should have a 'life plan', so we can all have directions where we want to be. It's not about strictly sticking to a specific plan and forgetting about being spontaneous and doing a jump to an unknown abyss, but it's about doing all these crazy things and still knowing where you're headed. At the end of a crazy day, you still have to clear your head and proceed to what you really want to happen in your life.

Life's full of surprises indeed, but don't you think it's easier to wake up each morning knowing where you're headed? :)

Thursday, August 3

48 Hours.

It's Thursday already, and the weekend is coming really soon. Well not that I'm actually anticipating anything particular or anything special that's gonna happen this weekend, but I'd finally get my 48 hours. I was giving it some thought and I realized that a weekend away from the busy workplace is ONLY 48 hours. And that's too short! I'd probably just breeze through it, spending around 20 of it to sleep :p And the remaining 28 doing humdrum things that are probably a waste of time too. It's not like I'm busy all the time at work, but when you're at work, time flies so fast and it's not like you're still productive when you get home, and you're able to do stuff for leisure. You just want to be on lazy mode and just wanna get some sleep.

I've even come to a realization that maybe my life's become a routine, and my day-to-day activity is comprised of the same things, and highlights of my day comprises of a good cup of coffee in the morning, getting sugar high from chocolate, seeing or talking to Ian, watching a favorite show, oh and getting 8 hours of sleep. Other than that, I don't think I live an extra ordinary life that is even worth
writing about. And it's not like I've had some phenomenal experiences or life-changing discoveries. Hmm.. does new learnings from Discover Channel count?

I miss doing new stuff, doing interesting things, learning new things everyday. Apart from my dose of Discovery Channel and Animal Planet (How nerdy can I get :p But I like watching those channels :D), does learning new things from google count too? I learn stuff at work but it's what, work related. I guess when you get older, the only teacher left is experience.

I also miss reading, I still read but it's mostly magazines and fiction books. From time to time, some stuff dawn on me, and I get to realize things and have some learnings but part of me still crave for more knowledge, and when you're working, I guess the thirst for knowledge is never quenched. Then you realize the irony of it,when you're in school, you want to graduate, it's like you think you've learned what you needed to know, and you're actually learning too much- you even have to take those subjects that won't come in handy in real life(like calculus), and when you're working already, you just wanna learn again and go back to school.

I guess it all boils down to one thing, life's too short. We just have to make the most out of it. Even if in a week, there's just 48 hours left to do the most productive or unproductive thing you can think of (..that isn't work-related, leave work for Monday to Friday). Make the most out of school, make the most out of work, make the most out of the 48 hours.

Thursday, December 8

Almost there.

Whoah, few days are left before Christmas! Last December 1, I was in the, ‘oh-my-gosh-it’s-december-already’ mode. Time really flies sooo damn fast. Before we know it, it’s 2006 already. I mean, 6 days after Christmas, we’ll be celebrating New Year. Looking forward to a lot of things this December, and I guess my year’s pretty damn good. A lot of things happened this year, much of it I didn’t really expect. Well, yeah, I mean who knows what’s gonna happen next right? But it’s pretty much like getting a gift for Christmas, you get a box wrapped in a really nice Christmas print with a red ribbon, and you don’t know what to expect when you open it. (Okay, so I’m trying too hard to connect everything to the season :p) In the end, no matter what gift you get, it’s basically the thought that counts, right? So I guess, with the experiences that you’ve been through this 05, it’s on how you look at things, like how you see what happened in a ‘more positive’ or in a better perspective. Am I making sense? I mean, that’s just how I look a things, a certain situation can be interpreted in different ways, you’d either look at it in a good or in a bad way. (Sorry if I’m just babbling here, kind of multi tasking right now :p And I haven’t been updating this thing in a long time, I’ll make an entry that’s worth reading next time.) I dunno if I’m getting my message across, but everything boils down on your outlook. We all get our up’s and down’s, and life’s one big roller coaster ride. (Yeah right, I’m still afraid of riding the one with loops :p) Anyway, so my take this season, be thankful for what you have, for all the blessings you received this year, and welcome Christmas and the coming year with a smile. The next journey will be a blast. :)

When you want something so bad, you'll get it.

I dunno if its me and my brat-mentality, but i believe in that, that the universe will conspire to give you what you want. Well, not necessarily all the time, but there are instances. And it's just not wanting it badly, of course there are other factors to be considered, like how you act upon what you want.

I have a cousin who just recently passed the board exams for nursing, and he wanted it badly. He studied hard for it, he heard mass almost every single day, we all prayed for him, I guess everything combined, he made it. Getting something you want needs hard work as well, it's just not about having high hopes, or having everyone pray for it. It's more than that, but like what I said, if you want it badly, since you're doing everything you possibly can, you have a really big chance that you'll get what you want, right?

It's like this, with some recent occurrences of certain things in my life, I think I'm getting what happens to be something I wanted badly a long long time ago, around 6 to 8 years ago? Which is really funny considering how young I was that time, and how long it took, and the fact that I actually forgot all about it. Maybe it's something that I really hoped for and wished for a long time ago.. and something I still wanted up to now.:)
